We’ve taken practical steps to fix economy – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday urged Nigeria to remain resolute, saying that the economic doldrums being experienced in the country was already receiving desired attention.

The President gave the assurance at the All Progressives Congress grand rally held at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium yesterday in Benin City.

President Buhari was joined at the rally by the APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, governor Nasir el-Rufai s of Kaduna State, Yahaya Belle (Kogi), Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto), Akinwumi Ambode (Lagos), Sani Bello (Niger) and Ibikunle Amosu of Ogun State.

The President, said the country has adopted pragmatic approach to rescue the nation from the economic uncertainty, predicting that the APC would win Edo state governorship election billed for Saturday.

“I assure you, we are going to get out of our economic doldrums. We are almost out from our insecurity problem and we are going to make Nigeria great again. We are going to be very proud country ones more, our time, our resources will not be for nothing, we will continue to be great”, he said.

The governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole who gave a graphic view of his economic policies over the past seven years and appealed to the electorate to vote the APC standard bearer in the election in order to sustain his legacies.

Lagos state governor and chairman, election campaign committee, Abode Akuwumi Ambode, said the monumental achievements recorded by the APC controlled states across the Federation depicts hope and better Nigeria.

He said his leadership has brought succour to the people of the state, said the monumental achievements recorded by all the states governed by the APC, symbolises hope and progress.

Edo State Governorship candidate, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, while thanking President Mohammadu Buhari for repositioning the country’s image internationally,

He said his plans to create 200, 000 jobs if elected as governor of the state, was not a mere rhetoric.

“Your Excellency sir, my decision to run for the governorship position of the state was because of you. You are my aspiration. If not for your personality sir, I would not have dared to contest”, he said.

The national chairman of the party, Chief Odigie Oyegun appealed to the people of the state to reciprocate the good work of the state governor by voting for the candidacy of Mr. Obaseki.
