Nicki Minaj’s Brother, Jelani Maraj, Found Guilty in Child Rape

After nearly three weeks on trial, the verdict is in on Nicki Minaj’s brother’s child rape case. Jelani Minaj has been found guilty of predatory sexual assault against a child and endangering the welfare of a child.

Maraj was accused of raping his then-12-year-old stepdaughter. During the trial, the victim and her 10-year-old brother testified, explaining their side of the story to the jury. While experts testified that there was “less than 1 in 348 billion chance” that the DNA found on the victim’s pajamas belonged to someone other than Maraj. Weeks later, the jury found him guilty of predatory sexual assault.

Although Maraj will be sentenced next month, he is facing 25 years to life in prison for the crime.
