Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez picks up injury on international duty
As per a number of reports stemming from Chile this evening, Arsenal attacker Alexis Sanchez has picked up an ankle injury while on international duty with La Roja.
Busy summer
Sanchez, who had looked all set for a move away from Arsenal on the final of the transfer window this past Thursday, eventually saw his £60 million move to Premier League rivals Manchester City collapse due to the Gunners failing to secure the signing of Thomas Lemar from Monaco.
Fresh concern
Many have since called into question whether Sanchez will be fully committed to the Arsenal cause upon his return from international duty, though it now looks as though fans of the North London outfit may have another reason to worry about their star man.
As per a report from BiobioChile, Sanchez limped out of Chile’s training session earlier today, with the former Barcelona man requiring an ice pack on his left ankle.
Sanchez is now listed as doubtful for his country’s crucial World Cup qualifier with Bolivia on Tuesday, though no further indication has yet been provided regarding the extent of the problem picked up by the 29-year-old.
