Why DSS Retired Marilyn Ogar, 44 Others
Following investigation into allegations of bribery and professional misconducts against her, controversial former spokesperson of the Department of State Service (DSS), Marilyn Ogar, has been compulsorily retired from service.
A signal from the leadership of the DSS, issued on Wednesday night, confirmed the development, but did not reveal the identities of other officers affected by the exercise.
It was learnt that Mrs. Ogar allegedly collected several trucks of DPK (Dual Purpose Kerosene) as bribe, playing partisan roles, among other breaches of service codes.
Reports further said Ogar, who was promoted Deputy Director alongside 44 others in the twilight of the Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, was sent packing as Musa Daura, new director of the agency decided he wants to reorganize the agency.
It was gathered that most of the axed officers are close friends of Ita Ekpeyong, former director general of the agency.
