Twitter reacts as Spurs loss puts Chelsea within inches of title

 

Tottenham’s loss against West Ham in London this evening has put Chelsea within inches of the Premier League title.

Antonio Conte’s side face Middlesbrough on Monday and a win would put them seven points clear at the top.

With games coming thick and fast with not many left, the club will well and truly have one hand on the trophy.

Tottenham will also face Manchester United next weekend in what could be a very difficult game.

The game against West Ham was a hotly contested affair with end-to-end football.

Andre Ayew had a few chances while Manuel Lanzini also had a big chance in the first-half but was denied by Hugo Lloris.

Harry Kane was also denied by Hammers goalkeeper Adrian with a smart save using his foot.

Then, in the second half, Lanzini struck the goal that sunk Tottenham and had Chelsea fans celebrating.

The ball falling to the Argentine in the six-yard box, he made no mistake and put it past Lloris.

Lanzini also had the chance to put the tie to bed when one-on-one with the French keeper but couldn’t finish.
