Tupac’s “Hail Mary” Accidentally Made It Into A Christmas Carol Book
Does Tupac’s menacing 1997 track have the potential to be a holiday staple?
While there’s no real explanation so far, Complex suggests that it could have been a simple mix-up between “Hail Mary” and “The Hail Mary Prayer,” otherwise known as “Ave Maria.” If that’s the case, the lyrics were seriously overlooked, as we can’t imagine “I ain’t a killer, but don’t push me / Revenge is like the sweetest joy next to gettin’ pussy,” not raising a red flag.

The Joy To The World festival is said to be part of the Sri Lanka’s largest caroling service, so, unless it was somehow intentional, this is a pretty big mistake. No word on whether the attendees of the festival actually took part in a rendition of the classic track, but we kind of hope they did.
