‘Stop focusing on racism’ – Kanye West to black people
- Come again, Kanye?
Rapper Kanye West has never been shy to speak his mind and doesn’t mind the backlash he receives as a result.
But this new, new Kanye has reached a level that not many celebrities have yet to reach – he thinks black people focus too much on racism.
Fans who went to see his show in California revealed that he went on a now typical rant about politics and race in America.
According to him, he didn’t vote in the recently concluded elections, but Donald Trump was his preferred candidate. In spite of the extremist messages of his presidential campaign, Kanye calls Trump a ‘genius’.
He went on to further talk about race relations in America. ‘Specifically to black people, stop focusing on racism. This world is racist, OK? Let’s stop being distracted to focus on that as much. It’s a fucking fact. We are in a racist country.’
It’s a state of mind that is not likely to sit well with the majority of Kanye West fans who are (obviously) black. Some have deduced that this may be why Jay Z and Beyonce have given his family a wide berth, as Kanye himself announced last month. The Knowles-Carters have been involved in leading anti-racism causes.
Kanye is on stage praising Trump & telling BP to stop talking about race so much.
This is exactly why they won’t let Blue play at his house

His view also comes as an about-face because in 2005, after Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans, a predominantly black city, Kanye infamously accused then US President George Bush of not caring about black people.
Wyd Kanye?
