Star Wars: The Force Awakens Becomes 3rd Movie Ever To Gross Over $2 Billion
The Force Awakens joins $2bn club – The weekend box office saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens add a new record to its impressive list of records.
The movie which made $6.9 million in North America, has now made over $900 million in the continent, and has become only the 3rd movie of all time to surpass over $2 billion in the global box office.
Topping the box office over the weekend was Kung Fu Panda 3, making an estimated $21 million in its second weekend of release.
Second over the weekend was the Coen brothers’ Hail Ceaser, while Cross Creek Picture’s Pride & Prejudice & Monsters made $5.2 million as it secured the 3rd spot. See the full top 10 below.
