- Clopton is also seeking the termination of his contract with Akon’s Konvict Entertainment.
Akon is being sued by his producer Leland Clopton for hiding his financial details to avoid paying him his due royalties.
According to the court documents filed, his producer claims that he produced a number of songs for Akon’s Konvict Entertainment but only received payment for a few of them.
Along with deliberately hiding financial details from him to avoid paying him what was due, Clopton also accuses Akon of a ‘pattern of racketeering activity.’
The producer is seeking a minimum of $1m (N315) in damages and to have his contract with Konvict Entertainment terminated.
