Senator-elect for Osun West, Ademola Adeleke has revealed that he quit the All Progressives Congress (APC), because the party does not practice democracy.
Adeleke stated this while speaking with journalists after collecting his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday.
The lawmaker said he followed the required electoral process and emerged unopposed in the APC primary election, but that “they started their manipulation.
“I used to be in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but I am back home now.
“My interest was in APC, but it was when I got there, we discovered that they don’t practise democracy.”
Adeleke polled a total of 97,480 votes, to defeat Mudashiru Hussain of the APC who secured 66,116 votes.
He won nine out of the 10 local government areas where the election held.
