Real Madrid Equal Barcelona’s Unbeaten Run
Real Madrid equalled Barcelona’s Spanish record of 39 games unbeaten in all competitions with a comfortable 5-0 La Liga victory over Granada at the Bernabeu.
Los Blancos had ended Barcelona’s record-breaking run last season with a 2-1 win at the Camp Nou and have not been beaten since going down 2-0 to Wolfsburg in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal last April.
Zinedine Zidane’s men had broken their own club record before Christmas, when they defeated Deportivo La Coruna 3-2.
They have now equalled Barcelona’s record which it set in the 2015/2016 season under Luis Enrique. Madrid will overtake their bitter rivals, if they don’t lose to Sevilla in the return leg of their Copa del Rey tie at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Thursday.
Juventus hold the European all-time record for an unbeaten run of 43 matches in all competitions in the 2011/2012 season, when Antonio Conte was in charge.
