President Buhari Promises to Pay Super Falcons Players in 2 Days
Nigeria’s President has promised to pay the Super Falcons in two days.
The Super Falcons have been protesting the non-payment of their allowances and salaries after winning the 2016 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON).
The players are claiming that each of them is being owed the sum of N12.3m by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
They took to the street on Wednesday, December 14 to protest and marched to the gate of the National Assembly to wait for President Buhari who was there to present the 2017 budget.
The strategy work as Buhari sent his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari to speak the players.
While meeting with the girls, Kyari promised the girls that they would be paid in two days.
“You girls will be paid in two days time,” Buhari’s chief of staff told the Super Falcons while accepting a letter from the girls to the President.
The Super Falcons, however, did not meet Buhari who will not be at the National Assembly until 2pm.
