Player Hospitalized As Explosion Interrupts Tonight’s Borussia Dortmunds Quarter Final Clash.
BORUSSIA DORTMUND’S clash with Monaco is in danger of being called off after there was an explosion by the Bundesliga side’s team bus.
Marc Bartra has been taken to hospital after being injured in the incident, but it is not believed to be serious.
Dortmund tweeted a collection of posts, saying: “There was an incident on departure of our bus. One person was injured. More information will follow.
“Bomb explosion at the team bus. Players in safety. No danger in the stadium. More information will follow.
“Borussia Dortmund and police confirm there was an explosion involving the team bus with one injury (Bartra).”
The incident has been confirmed by the German police, who tweeted: “In the area #Dortmund #Highest there has been a #explosion. We are on the spot with strong forces. The location is still unclear.
“Please wait for official information + leave rumors and speculation. You support us very much.”
Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone said of Dortmund explosion: “I’m speechless and concerned. That’s the first thing that comes to my mind.”
