A NEW DAWN FOR REMOLAND
His Royal Highness Oba Babatunde Ajayi Torungbuwa II, is a distinct man of class, a chartered accountant and Barrister, Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
He was born on 5th December 1953, married his incomparable elegant wife some decade back and they are blessed with three lovely sons.
Oba Ajayi is a respected and experienced practitioner in both professions. He handled the liquidation of Nigeria Airways, privatization of three steel rolling mills, privatization of Sky-power Aviation Handling Co. Limited (SAHCOL),a managing partner of Babington Ashaye & Co, with over 20 years experience in insolvency and Restructuring to date.
Oba Ajayi is a fellow of the institute of Charted Accountant, ICAN, Chairman of IVAN faculty of insolvency and Corporate RE-Engineering, Vice President of Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners of Nigeria, BRIPAN. He is also a member of the international insolvency institute (III). He is a two time president of Collective Club Sagamu, the current Chiarman Board of Trustee of the same club, a member of Ikoyi Club And Lagos Tennis Club as well as a trustee of United African Methodist Church.
In his acceptance remarks as the Akarigbo of REMO-LAND, he promised that his era would bring about peace, prosperity and positive development, noting that since the announcement of his appointment things have begun to point in that positive direction. Oba Ajayi stressed that peace and development in REMO remained top of his agenda and that under his leadership all interest would be United to bring about positive development and prosperity to the entire Remoland. He said numerous Sagamu and REMO indigenes had signified their intention to cooperate with him in developing the city.
While reviewing members of the REMO Elders Forum band the REMO resource and recreation center, led by Chief Idowu Sofola (SAN), in Sagamu, Ogun State he added that he would always be open to advice and guidance on how to develop Remoland. Present were Chief Idowu Sofola, who is the Chiarman; Asiwaju of Remoland, Chief Solomon Kayode Onafowokan (OON) and the Aare Gbogbogbo OF REMOLAND, Chief Kola Oyefeso and co-Chiarman, African Newspaper of Nigeria (ANN) Plc, Dr Olatokunbo Awolowo Dosunmu while the duo of Lisa Akarigbo of Remoland, Chief Adeyemi Salami and the Olootu Omoba Micheal Oyedele, were also in Attendance.
Chief Sofola said the forum was gladdened by the appointment of Oba Ajayi as the Akarigbo, hence the decision to pay him a courtesy visit and to show solidarity with him as well as offer advice on how to bring everyone together in the all-important task of developing Remoland.
Chief Sofola also charged the Oba, on the need to ensure an end to all hostilities between Makun and Ofin quarters of Sagamu and also rally everyone in Remo on the task engendering development.
Also speaking, Dr Awolowo Dosunmu congratulated the akarigbo praying that his era would usher in peace, comfort and prosperity for Sagamu and for REMOLAND.
“It is my prayer that all the effort and progress made by our father over REMOLAND you will be able to continue with them and to achieve success,” she said.
Responding, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi said: “I am someone who listens to advice and I am very respectful. I urge you not to be far away from me. I may not be able to do everything people say, but I promise to always heed to positive advice and guidance. I have listened to all you have said, especially over Makun and Ofin face-off. I can tell you that already we are putting an end to the chapter of hostility. Under my watch, I promise that there will be peace in Sagamu and in REMOLAND.
“The level of responses and support I have received so far is overwhelming and this shows that our people are ready to cooperate with me to end all misunderstandings and to develop REMOLAND,” the AKARIGBO said.
