A 20-year-old man, Timidou Jephther, has been arrested for raping a five-year-old girl to death in Bayelsa, according to a statement from the Police.
“The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested one Timidou Jephther ‘m’ 20 years, of Akedei Community, a riverine suburb in Sagbama Local Government Area, who sexually assaulted one Queen Kaiser ‘f’ 5 years to death,” Police spokesperson, Asinim Butswat, said.
“The suspect was arrested on the 9th August, 2016. The corpse has been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa, for autopsy.
“The suspect is detained at the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department SCIID, Yenagoa. Investigation is ongoing, ” Mr. Butswat said.
