Make Your Boss Happy With You
Either you just started working at your office or you have been there for a long time, you need to make your boss love you. It would make for you to steer clear of walking on egg shells and ensure good reference whenever you eventually decide to leave.
DON’T MAKE YOUR BOSS WAIT EVER
Try all you can to always turn up early for meetings. Never show up late because if you do, it means you have just taken your job less seriously and you would be telling your boss you won’t care about other assignments so much either. Be on time. Always.
ALWAYS ASSUME OTHERS WOULD SCREW UP
Just imagine you are the only one who can do things right and imagine others would mess up because truthfully, nobody is hundred percent reliable. Instead of leaving your assignment in the hands of others, finish it yourself. Double check and make sure it is all done before you finally submit.
DO NOT PROCRASTINATE
Don’t leave what you can do at the moment for later. You have to leave yourself time to take care of obstacles that might come up in the task you have ahead.
KEEP A NOTEPAD
Scribble as your boss talks so he/she can know that you are taking in every detail and that he/she isn’t just talking for fun. Besides, this helps you jot things you might not remember. So whenever you need them, you can refer to the pad.
NEVER LIE
It is honestly easy to heap the blame on someone else at work and refuse to take responsibility for something that went wrong. But remember when the cover is blown, every amazing thing you’ve ever done at work would be erased by that one lie you told. You don’t want that to happen do you?
NEVER GOSSIP ABOUT YOUR BOSS
Gossiping about anybody at work is ludicrous and very unsafe because your work environment should be kept as strictly a place for work. Gossiping about your boss or making funny faces behind them once they turn their backs is the only thing more ridiculous than gossiping about your co-workers. It is wrong and these things always gets out. The boss always learns about it. Trust, they always do. Save yourself the embarrassment.
