HELLO SKALES, HERE’S WHY YOUR ALBUM CAN NEVER BE THE BIGGEST IN NIGERIA
My headline nor be swear bros. But if it is the same Skales myself and other Nigerian music enthusiasts know then it cannot simply be the biggest.
Sorry jare goat nor dey born dog.
At a time skales and wizkid where two of Nigeria’s biggest music prospects. Even after that brilliant song of yours ‘heading for a grammy’ i thought you would be the closest thing to bringing home the coveted big price. But alas that was just a pipe dream. Your former label mate just lost out of the grammys by the whiskers.
Let me ask you some questions first before i proceed.
Have you decided what you truly are as a musician or where your genre lies? Are you a rapper or a singer? I hear you mutter erm erm am diversed. Bros sit down one place abeg.
Have you learnt the key to success from wizkid and davido? It’s consistency and loyalty. Even ice prince the rapper cum singer still had to be consistent with a definitive sound and a proper music backbone ( shoutout to chocolate city).
I hear you plan to put out more smash hits to send the nigerian music scene crazy. Need i remind you that you’ve not been a serial hitmaker?
Have you heard the new sound making wave in the industry? For you to break in you have to follow the trend not some weak sound and lazily written lyrics over some fast paced instrumental. We need music not noise. Even the pace setters have left that era. Sit down relax and take and cue from Eazi, Tekno, Kiss Daniel and the others giving us quality music.
I’d be a liar to say you never had it in you but to be frank you seem to have lost the plot. A couple of mediocre sound here and there plus throw in a couple of bad PR statements and scandals from you in the past has not helped your image. Please help us #bringbackourskales. Not the post EME own but the guy Egbon Banky saw.
You’re not a kid in the game anymore and you’ve learnt alot. Too much mediocre sounds has led many artistes into obscurity. Don’t join the list please.
Bros you see tekno abi? Take a cue from him. It’s never too late to drop an album. But first you have to be felt. Allow us to clamour for the album. Don’t force it down our throats. When the time has come only Nigerians would demand you drop one. Even common sense would tell you the time is ripe then. You sadly still have the image of an up and coming artiste albiet a known one. Give us back to back quality sounds just like Alhaji Tekno has done and you would be golden.
At a point in his career, Majek Fashek was the biggest phenomenon on the Nigerian music scene. where is he now? This just goes to prove to you that talent not properly harnessed could as well go to the dustbins. Money and endorsements do not necessarily spell success as an artiste. Carve a niche for yourself. Be like 2baba the great so in 10 years time we can still hold you in high esteem.
I have said my own bros. Let me allow you do your own.
