Governor Fayose’s Frozen Zenith Bank Account Numbers Leak Online (See Details)
The restricted Zenith bank account numbers of Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state has been published online by a highly controversial online newspaper.
The saga of the restriction of Governor Ayodele Fayose’s bank accounts by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on the 20th of June, 2016 seems far from coming to an end as emerging reports have it that the anti-graft body later obtained an ex parte order from Justice Mohammed Idris of the Federal High Court, Lagos to complete the judicial procedure of freezing his (Fayose’s) bank accounts.
The order was obtained four days after the controversial freezing which Fayose described as an abuse of his immunity as governor enshrined in section 308 of the Nigerian constitution as amended.
Controversial online news platform, Sahara Reporters via its Twitter account has also released the numbers of the suspicious Zenith bank accounts of Fayose as well as that of his close associate which remains frozen.
The odds seem to be against the embattled governor as a Federal High Court in Ekiti has turned down a request by the vocal critic to order EFCC to unfreeze his account with immediate effect.
