Flavia Pennetta has won the 2015 US Open after beating Roberta Vinci in the final.

Pennetta, who was seeded 26th, beat Italian compatriot Vinci 7-6 (7-4) 6-2.

The title is Pennetta’s first ever Grand Slam, making her the second Italian woman ever to win a tennis major.
