Any Chelsea fans still harbouring hopes that Diego Costa could be a Blues star in 2017-18 must now surely admit that’s never going to happen.
The Spanish international centre-forward has surely made sure he’s passed the point of no return with the Blues, after his latest Instagram Live broadcast appeared to confirm his Stamford Bridge exit.
Costa, of course, has already been told he’s no longer in Antonio Conte’s plans – the Italian relayed that message via an SMS – while he’s been allowed to skip Chelsea’s pre-season plans as he tries to secure his next career move.
Atletico Madrid
Costa wants to return to Atletico Madrid, and the Rojiblancos want to deal to happen as well.
The problem? Atleti are under a transfer embargo, meaning that Costa cannot play for them until January.
That’s opened up the possibility of Costa playing the first half a season at another club. Could that be Besiktas?
In any event, Costa donned an Atletico Madrid shirt in his latest Instagram Live video in a sign his Chelsea days are numbered.
