Chester Bennington Of Linkin Park Commits Suicide
Some shocking news is coming in at this hour. Chester Bennington of Linkin Park has reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his L.A. home. He was 41 years old.
Law enforcement sources have confirmed with TMZ that the singer hanged himself at a private residence in Palos Verdes Estates in L.A. County. His body was discovered Thursday (July 20) just before 9 am. He had six children from two women. Chester was the leading vocalist of Linkin Park who created a storm when they first broke out with their debut album Hybrid Theory in 2000.
Chester fought with drug and alcohol addiction in the past. In an interview in 2012, he also revealed that he suffered sexual abuse from an older male friend when he was seven years old. There’s also a strange connection with him taking this unfortunate route today. He was very close friends with fellow musician Chris Cornell, who himself committed suicide by hanging himself in May and today would have been Cornell’s 53rd birthday.
Linkin Park released a new video for the song ‘Talkin To Myself’ earlier today. The song appears on their latest album One More Light which is in stores now. Rest in peace Chester Bennington.
