Camille Cosby Forced To Testify In Case Against Hubby Bill Cosby
Camille Cosby to give deposition
The wife of comedian Bill Cosby, Camille Cosby, has been forced by a court to give a deposition in a case against the embattled actor.
Camille had tried to shield herself from being deposed, filing a motion on Wednesday, but a judge dismissed the entire motion on Thursday.
“Mrs. Cosby now seeks an order quashing the subpoena, or in the alternative, a protective order limiting its scope,” United States Magistrate Judge David H. Hennessy wrote in his ruling.
“She argues that Massachusetts marital disqualification law renders her incompetent to testify in this matter and that even if she could provide admissible testimony, the value of any such information is outweighed by the undue burden that her deposition would effect.”
“As discussed below, I find no merit in Mrs Cosby’s arguments, and accordingly deny her motion in its entirety.”
Camille’s deposition in the case, in which seven women filed a defamation suit against her husband, will now hold on the 6th of December.
