#AKWAIBOMDECIDES2019: Udom and PDP In Panic Over APC’s Nsima’s Likely Victory
As the states prepare for Saturday’s governorship and state house of assembly elections, the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have stated that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is jittery because of the anticipated landslide victory of the APC in the gubernatorial election, hence its spread of false propaganda about the APC.
According to a statement by Iboro Otongaran, who is the chairman, APC Media Task Force in the state, the torrents of false information flowing from the propaganda mill of the Akwa Ibom chapter of the PDP against the APC and its gubernatorial candidate in the last few days to the governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state is proof of the desperation of the PDP. The statement read, “The PDP is visibly jittery because of the landslide victory of the APC in the presidential election and overwhelming support that the national leadership of our great party has shown to the state chapter of the party.
“We want to remark that all the fake stories are so thoughtless that one is left in no doubt that they are concoctions from the most unreflective minds and the basest instinct in the PDP. Two examples of the fake stories are typical of the rest.
“Yesterday the PDP propaganda machine made fake two videos of young people which they claimed to be of ‘APC thugs’ primed for the elections of Saturday. In one of the videos, some young men were used to stage a so-called busting of a thugs hideout at Luton Park Hotel, which is owned by a PDP chieftain from Ibiono, who is a former local government chairman of the area and an aspirant to the state house of assembly on the PDP platform. At the time the hoax was enacted and shown to the world as the arrest of ‘APC thugs’, only PDP members were present, one of whom being Amos Etuk, chairman of the election media committee of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly.
Another fabricated video in the series of false propaganda shows alleged ‘APC thugs’ loaded onto buses headed for Akwa Ibom and equally shows the same buses instantly arriving in Akwa Ibom with the thugs rounded up and confessing their crimes in Uyo! This is Baba Sala show meant for low taste entertainment!

The statement further said, “Another fake story making the rounds from the PDP false propaganda factory is that the APC governorship candidate, Obong Nsima Ekere, has entered into an agreement with Miyetti Allah, the cattle breeders association, for support towards his election in return for approval to establish cattle colonies in the state. This is a brainless allegation. The entire claim is false, wicked and malicious and reflects the low thinking in the various leadership levels in the PDP.
First, the so-called agreement, couched as MOU, was written on the official letterhead of the APC. Why would a private agreement between Obong Nsima Ekere and Miyetti Allah be written on the official letterhead of the APC, when the falsehood was not presented as agreement between the APC and the cattle breeders?
Second, the fake MOU dated 15 January 2019 was on the letterhead of the APC with an address at Atiku Abubakar Way, whereas as at August 2018, the APC had moved its head office in the state to 149 Ikot Ekpene Road, Uyo.
We want to say categorically that the false propaganda stories about ‘APC thugs’ and “agreement between Obong Nsima Ekere and Myetti Allah” are lies from a jittery and desperate PDP. Nothing is true about the cited publications, and should be disregarded in their entirety by members of the public”.
