5 Reasons Why 2016 Was The Year For Mr Eazi
Tosin Ajibade popularly known as Mr. Eazi was not as popular in 2015 as he is in 2016.
That for one is a very legit fact.
The Port-Harcourt born graduate of Mechanical Engineering just became more visible in 2016 to us and it’s safe to say, he’s enjoyed every bit of it.
Here are some of the reasons why 2016 was legit a year for Mr. Eazi
1. He was signed to Starboy Records
And that’s a pretty huge deal if we do say so ourselves! On May 7, 2016, WizKid announced that he had signed Mr Eazi to his record label Starboy Worldwide and well, more fire things for the boy.
2. He won the Next Rated Category at the Headies
Even if you do not trust the Headies show, he goes home with a car and that’s a lot. I would do anything for a car right now you know.
3. He was featured on the best musical collaborations
For a newbie to the Nigerian music industry, Mr. Eazi has pretty much collaborated with some of the biggest stars. From the likes of DJ Spinall to Ill Bliss to Wizkid to mention but a few. Safe to say 2017 will be a year of more musical collaborations.
4. He had a good Lagos concert
On December 20th 2016, Mr. Eazi had his own concert tagged ‘Life is Eazi’ here in Lagos, Nigeria and in as much as there’s a lot of improvement to be done, it wasn’t a bad concert as a lot of people were around. Not to forget the United Kingdom concert which we hear was good as well.
5. His name was literally everywhere
Mr. Eazi’s name was everywhere in 2016. From being nominated for various awards like The Future Awards Africa and even spreading his banku music all over Africa. Do we need to talk about his hat that young Nigerians are practically searching for everywhere? It’s a movement!
